A Carswell Cut tribute to The Slovenian National Home in Cleveland, Ohio — the largest and most significant Slovenian cultural center in the United States.
The Story:
Founded August 17, 1914. Opened March 1924. 111 years of immigrant resilience, polka jams, fish fries, debutante balls, political rallies, and a community that REFUSED to disappear. From the Diemer Mansion to the Gaspari Curtain depicting "Mother Slovenia" — this building is sacred ground for Cleveland's 80,000+ Slovenian-Americans.
