Today I am joined by my good friend Chris Fuse. Before moving to Denver, where he presently resides, Chris was a barista at City & State and also managed the C&S Germantown pop-up. We always have shared good coffee conversations, both on and off shifts - so having him on the show was a natural choice. Some things we share in common are: a love for oat milk, making pour-overs in extremely small dosages and a tasty espresso.

I reached out to Chris and asked if he had any concepts he would like to cover on the show. And the one we landed on was: “cafe culture - are shops truly highlighting and uplifting coffee farmers through their endeavors.” I thought this would be a perfect topic to follow up on some conversations in recent episodes. It’s easy for a cafe which is also a roaster to introduce an element of farmer relationships, but how do other shops do their part?
