Cartwright! A Seinfeld Podcast

Seinfeld Episode 7 (Season 4) Summary: “Jerry offends Elaine’s assistant with the “panty remark.” Kramer makes a new contact for his Cuban cigars. A box of letters from John Cheever is all that remains after the Ross cabin burns down.”

Original air date: October 28, 1992

Not only is “The Cheever Letters” a sold Seinfeld episode (according to Adam and Corey), but it also marks the first appearance of Susan Ross’ parents on the show! Woohoo! Sure, they may not be as popular as the Costanzas or the Seinfelds but we love them. (You know what we don’t love? The “panty remark.” Gross, Jerry!)

Seinfeld Episode 6 (Season 4) Summary: “Jerry agrees to visit a bubble boy on the way to visiting a cabin in the woods. But Jerry and Elaine get lost and George winds up fighting the bubble boy. Meanwhile, Kramer appears at the cabin and wreaks havoc.”

Original air date: October 7, 1992

Woohoo! The Bubble Boy episode! Classic Seinfeld, right? Well, maybe. Adam and Corey were so happy to finally get to this episode, but it had a hard time living up to their nostalgic expectations. Listen to find out where things went wrong and where they went right (there’s still a lot of fun to be had especially when Brian Doyle-Murray is on the screen)!

Seinfeld Episode 5 (Season 4) Summary: “Jerry tries to buy his watch back from Uncle Leo to appease his parents. Meanwhile, George pleads with the NBC executive to reconsider their pilot deal. Elaine enlists Kramer in a plan to break up with Dr. Reston.”

Original air date: September 30, 1992

We wrap up the third two-part episode story arc from the fourth season of Seinfeld (that was a mouth full)! And even though this episode and the previous one has a lot to enjoy, the overall experience left Adam and Corey feeling like they just got off a roller coaster… and not in a good way. But, as we’ve seen before, sometimes the worst episodes of Seinfeld turn into the best episodes of Cartwright!

Seinfeld Episode 4 (Season 4) Summary: “Jerry has to explain to his parents why he isn’t wearing the watch they gave him, which he threw in the trash. Morty thinks his wallet was stolen at the doctor’s office. George negotiates his way out of the NBC pilot deal.”

Original air date: September 23, 1992

And we kick off another 2-part episode arc with The Wallet! Does anyone else find it odd that technically the first 6 episodes of Seinfeld Season 4 are actually 3 one hour stories? Adam and Corey discuss this weird occurrence and a whole bunch of other stuff while they break down and review The Wallet!

Seinfeld Episode 3 (Season 4) Summary: “NBC executives approach Jerry to write a sitcom pilot. George joins him in the venture and pitches a show about “nothing.” Crazy Joe Davola stalks Jerry and Kramer. Newman uses Kramer as a witness to try to get out of a speeding ticket.”

Original air date: September 16, 1992

Yo-Yo Ma!! We are so happy to be recording our review of The Pitch/The Ticket this week! For us, Seinfeld Season 4 really starts with this two-parter (not that other one that shall not be named)! We hope you all have as much fun listening to this extra long episode as we had recording it! And, as always, please let us know what you think on our Facebook page!
