The podcast currently has 14 episodes available.
And you'll like it. Not a lot. But you'll like it. Probably.
Literally everything is covered in this, the lucky 13th episode of whatever this is meant to be.
Life will find a way, as they say.
Perhaps the riskiest episode in the illustrious history of this, your humble pod.
Is this the end? Tune in to find out.
Yes, the wind blows a little bit colder, and we’re all getting older, and the clouds are moving on with every Autumn breeze. In a troubled, post-Summer 1998 world, and faced with a disquieting future, who can you turn to? On whom can we rely for certain certainties?
Casa Murilo, that’s who. Yes, the boys are back. And, to quote the dearly departed Paul Daniels - you’ll like it. Not a lot, but you’ll like it.
Season 2 is here. You’re welcome. In a way. And this time every episode will be under 1hr. It’s about time we listened to our Dads.
P.S. Please send us some listeners’ letters
Well, here it is.
The end of the line.
Episode 10 sees the culmination of a shared, summer-long fever dream. The record is out and, shockingly, it's exceeding even our grandiose expectations. The pod, in its own imperfect way, ends immaculately with our first and final venture into the world of video livestreaming. Thousand(s) joined us as we slapped the old girl on the rump and bid her a fond farewell, with a bag full of tricks up our sleeves, Including but not limited to:
- the best intro ever
- a sensational, semi-catastrophic multimedia nutsack event
- the grand reveal of the mysterious Wizard of Ros
- a nail-biting finale to fan-favourite segment "Let's Get Featured In Our Local Papers: A Summer Odyssey"
- a emotionally devastating "Listeners Letters"
- a disastrous mackerel incident
- the grand unveiling of The '98 Hamper (yes it's real)
- the glorious unboxing of the greatest limited edition vinyl ever to grace this planet we have collectively agreed to call earth
Don't cry baby, it's only a podcast
Take care, and thank you. Chris and Dan.
P.S. promise us / you'll write to us / we need to know you care for what we do / some letters / to us from you

The penultimate episode of the greatest journey we/you have ever been on.
Does Dan finally break ground with Grant/Guy/Gazza/Grembo Chembas/Chamba/Chumbo/Chambers in his quest to get featured in his local paper? Could it be that Grant even has links to our community's most famous member? Only one way to find out...
We also dig into England's 98 World Cup heartbreak with the help of this week's featured tune "June 30th", and we find out what Steve Bruce and Phil "The Power" Taylor have in common.
The end of this series is closing in, as are the cooler nights of late summer. The geese are prepping for their long journey south, the elderflower's sweet scent is a sign that Autumn is soon upon us but..... what's that?... a delicate beat on the breeze of Summers past?...Is that.... is that a Suede reference floating gently in on the wings of August's last Admiral butterfly? An Echobelly b-side hook peeking gently from the nest of a Redwing long since flown? Yes. It's all of those things. It's Summer 1998. Our greatest work. Out in exactly one week.
2020's summer might be on it's final chorus, but 98's is only just beginning.
Chris & Dan xx

On this week's record-breaking edition of the pod, we invite you to bear witness to the denouement of what must surely be one of the world's great podcast segments - "The Hunt For Rick Witter On Twitter". They say you should never meet your heroes... Well... No spoilers, just get your listening gear round it and enjoy.
In other news, our third single is out today - Secret Sun is an ode to the greatest Britpop frontman of them all, Jarvis Cocker (Sorry Rick). The song has a long and winding origin story so there are 2 (two!) demos, plus the return of all the good old fan-favourite segments.
Get out and enjoy the sunshine while you still can, the summer will be gone like dust in the wind soon enough. But while the skies are still blue, and faint laughter floats in through the window as kids chase the fading refrain of an ice cream van, summer still lives.
Blessings be upon you all on this, Friday 7th August 2020. And God bless the good ship Summer 1998: The Podcast.
Hugs, C&D

The Rick Witter interview approaches at pace - don't panic, it's only a "little chat". A bumper nut sack edition featuring bacon, and potatoes that make you work for them.
Episode 7 focusses in on "Astra", a song about looking very cool as you drive about town with your mates in your mum's car. "Let's get featured in our local papers" is HAPPENING. Angela truly has become the dream-maker, whilst Gary Chimbers remains aloof.
3 episodes to go. Don't quit on us now, hey. xx

“Norway In A Nutsack” makes a triumphant return, as does a heartwarming “Listeners’ Letters” and a thrilling “Let’s Get Featured In Our Local Papers: A Summer Odyssey”.

Extra-special episode alert
Join us in the cabin on Friday 17th July 2020, release day for Summer '98 the single and opening track to our Lockdown Lo-fi Britpopera "Summer 1998", coming in August. World-class content abounds, with a new jingle for fan-favourite segment "The Hunt For Rick Witter On Twitter", a potentially libellous discussion about mid-late 90's Light Entertainment TV Saturday programming, and a walk through 7 songs that didn't quite make the cut. Yes, we are serious.

(thank you for the Listeners' Letters, you are all awesome <3) - Welcome to an extremely special edition of the pod. Dan and Chris are reunited for the first time since lockdown began, with this episode recorded in a rustic, 1930s-era arctic cabin on a remote farm far, far beyond The Wall in picturesque Northern Norway.
Today marks the release of our new single "Summer '98" which means it's a pretty Large Day all round because the entire concept album is built on this track and its chorus. Even this podcast. We probably should have released this first, but back in May when we had to choose the first single, we were struggling so hard with the lyrics in the prechorus that it honestly looked like it would become our Brian Wilson/Lee Mavers moment of catastrophic artist meltdown. Anyway, it turned out nice in the end, hope you like it.
Hugs
