In part 4 of our series we look again at the life of Abraham as an example of pursuing the purpose of God in our lives. Often as we pursue the purpose of God there will be a time of conflict with the enemy of our faith. You see, conflict reveals our true character. In today’s study pastor Alexander will identify three things that Abraham did to overcome conflict, that we too can emulate to overcome conflict in our lives.

When Abram RESPONDED by OPENING his HEART to God’s Purpose in faith and obedience, God OPENED HIS heart in revelation of a covenant blessing He was establishing with him. There are eight elements of that covenant that God revealed to Abram. If we will RESPOND to God’s purpose the same way as Abraham – OPENING our HEARTS to God, then God will again OPEN His heart of covenant blessings to us as well.

I am convinced that it is our God ordained role to pursue the purpose God has for each of our lives. Unfortunately, some have given up on pursuing God’s purpose thinking it’s only something for young people to do, or perhaps they have settled in a comfort zone when God is wanting to stretch them. Sometime God brings us through the valley of hardship in His purpose. Following God’s purpose is not always the easy road, but it will ultimately bring you into the possession of the promised blessings!
