David's story has many ups and downs, but even during the low moments, he finds a way to pull himself up. When we go through difficult times and come out the other side do we ever feel alone and isolated in what we just experienced? The key is to not “numb out,” but face it, process it, and try to connect to your life's larger story. God has brought you through before and He’ll continue to be with you.
All of us go through difficulties, challenges, and hard times. Not one of us has experienced a trouble-free life. However, we can choose to see difficulty as a teacher. Through adversity, we learn perseverance and how God pulls us through time and again. It can build up our faith in new ways and we can face the next thing with more grit.
This series will give you tangible ways to find grit-filled faith. Grit, in this case, means the resiliency to come back from something and be ready to face the next challenge. This happens in partnership with changing your lens on how you may view God. We should strive to cultivate a strong faith, but what practical steps can we take to pursue that?
When hope becomes difficult to hold we have the tendency to become cautious or hesitant when hope to right in front of us. We don’t want to have our hopes dashed. However, we can be the ones that hold onto hope and change the world - even if the world doesn’t change around us. In Luke 1:26-38 we see Mary deciding to hold onto hope because “nothing is impossible with God.” Let that be the source of our hope as well. Nothing is impossible with God.
