Throughout this series, we've been looking at parables that Jesus uses to illustrate what the kingdom of God is like. How do we get past being defined by what we're saved from? There are two parables in Matthew where Jesus further describes what the kingdom of God is like. It's a treasure that is worth seeking, but how do we embrace it without letting go of what we're saved from and stepping into what we're saved to?
The anger of Jesus is consistently in response to moments that religion pushes others away. Jesus chose to use His anger to make space for those who want to be close to Him. In this life, we're going to get angry, but is it being used for separation or are we using that energy towards restoration?
