The gang gets back together to talk about the return of the NFL. Topics include:
--The empty stadium impact on the line
--A complete rundown of the week 1 schedule
--AB rolling out the list of futures plays
--A line that almost inspired AB to walk off the show & bet
--The career trajectory of Mike McCarthy
The NBA also gets some time with Mo proclaiming no one will stop the Lakers & AB making a case for Jimmy Butler to grind his way to a title in the bubble. The show closes with some brief NHL talk and wild WNBA takes from Mo.
The crew welcomes in Matt Perrault of Pushing The Odds (Sports Map Radio) & The Daily Juice podcast to talk how he views the reports on big bets jumping the shark, the changing sports betting landscape, the importance of social media, & his experience with Covid-19.
Matt sticks around to talk with the guys about the NBA playoffs and things get intense when a potential Lakers/Clippers matchup is the topic. AB sticks a fork in the Bucks & a potential Celtics/Heat line is tossed around. NHL gets stuffed in the quick hits section even with some game 7 action on the way, golf is driving Big Dave nuts & some MLB is squeezed into the conversation. Finally, the boys "Take a Min." & Mo drops an all-timer.
The crew calls in Joe Sheehan (JoeSheehan.com) to talk some baseball including why the Dodgers this year are one of the best teams he's seen in his lifetime, the expiration date for baseball's unwritten rules, the big change he'd make to improve the game & hitting philosophy up 3-0 in the count with a big lead.
After Joe exits, the guys throw out a number of topics & just go like the good ol' days when you can get blasted in a bar.
The fellas bring in You Better You Bet & 670 The Score's Joe Ostrowski to talk how Illinois is screwing up legalized sports betting to no one's surprise within the state & the shocking amount of White Sox betting going down. After the interview concluded things get wild as Mo proclaims every team in MLB "the best" while Dave gets schooled on what "trending" means on social media & the guys give their first instinct lines for the Blazers/Grizzlies play-in game.
The gang gets a visit from ESPN SportsCenter anchor, Neil Everett, where he talks preferring television to radio, how he's seen media coverage of sports betting change after legalization, explaining his betting philosophy to his co-host, & his biggest betting win.
After Neil tags out, Mo joins the show & the guys go over/under (-12) as the winning score for the PGA Championship, the next step in the Fonzie parlay retirement plan, AB ranting in classic fashion about his love for tie games & setting a series price for a potential Lakers/Blazers playoff matchup.
The crew links up with Fox Bet Live's Todd Fuhrman (@ToddFuhrman) to talk his journey through the sports betting world including stops w/ Mo & AB to the desk of a sports betting show for FS1. Fuhrman also explains why he sees value on the future's board on two teams in the East to knock off the Bucks as the NBA restarts and looking for value in the NHL on Carolina. The show closes with the crew's thoughts on where the sports betting industry is headed, but the whole show is a hall of fame ball busting session for Mo led by Fuhrman.
The crew talks with Sunset Station sports book Director Chuck Esposito about the return of MLB to the betting boards and get some futures plays from him & a number hung on if college football will be played this season.
After the interview the guys give their own plays for the MLB season & also envision some awful situations for ticket writers dealing with customers that they are happy not to be part of. Mo reacts to Tony Finau's latest meltdown and the crew tries to go over/under on the winning score for this week's tournament... Mo goes hard on soccer while sweating an MLS game and has his eye on a very unusual college football game as a barometer for the season happening.
The crew links back up to talk how they see the start of the abridged MLB season playing out & some of the headaches it'll cause behind the counter with listing pitchers and more. Plus Mo explains his pre-show "CFB is doomed" text and his real emotional connection to the college game. Also, golf continues to be the new NFL for sports betting and looking back at UFC 251.
Some heat gets injected into the show as the guys take some stiff shots at one another while discussing how rough life can get without college football, who won't win this week's golf tournament, the perils of betting soccer and where the value is on the outcomes.
UFC 251 got "super necessary" when Jorge Masvidal stepped in on 6 days notice to claim his title shot against Kamaru Usman on a significantly title heavy card & the chances he can pull the upset get put on the conversation slab as well as thoughts on the card's other title bouts.
The crew reunites to discuss how the NFL should handle their upcoming season with HB throwing out an interesting suggestion and why Canada is the right choice for the Hub cities for the NHL to operate. Golf is taking over the betting board during the Covid-19 pandemic & AB explains where he gets his information when tossing some money on a tourney. Big Dave maintains hope throughout the show even when he and AB go over predictions for their teams performance against MLB season win totals. The show closes with some hostility about fireworks on the 4th of July. Happy Independence Day indeed.
