So, the French media giant Canal+ has made it’s long anticipated move to acquire MultiChoice, the largest pay-TV operator on the African continent. Over the last four years, Canal+ has been buying up shares in MultiChoice, starting with a 6.5% stake in October 2020 which now stands at over 40%. But what or who is Canal+ and why the move towards an outright takeover now?
