Robber's Roost is a punk influenced rag-time folk band from Washington state. Speaking with us today are guitarist and vocalist Mark Paschen and banjo player and vocalist Wren Carter. They are preparing to release a new album, Sinking Ship, December 18th. It is their first self-produced album, created between tours. In this podcast we discuss their unique instrumentation, Mark's experiences hopping trains, aliens & mind control, and Wren and Mark's life living in the tour van with their two dogs, plus a bunch of other more stuff. They are incredibly kind and very cool people. Enjoy!

He started his career as rowdy man Earl Pickens with his band The Black Mountain Mauraders in the East Village of NYC's rowdy bar scene during the early 2000s antifolk movement. A few years later he found great success with a run of children's albums His album "Trees", a collaboration with Molly Ledford, earned the duo a grammy nomination.
