Casting The Net

It's "Attack of the Brain Snatchers" in the sequel nobody asked for, Beyond Skyline. This time around, Frank Grillo (The Purge Election Year) and Iko Uwais (The Raid) team up to stop an alien invasion.

Imagine being bitten by a zombie, and having to trek across the Australian Outback to get your infant daughter to safety. Such is the plot to the Netflix original movie, Cargo, as Martin Freeman plays Andy, a desperate father who only has two days to find a home for his daughter, before he becomes one of the walking dead.

If you loved Sense8 as much as we did, you'll want to check out this week's episode as we discuss the series finale. Obviously, if you haven't watched the rest of the series, you might want to, because it's awesome! But we're just happy we got some kind of ending.

This week, the boys from Workaholics (Adam Devine, Anders Holm, and Blake Anderson)leave the office for a hotel, and have to work together to stop a group of criminals who have taken the guests hostage, in the Netflix Original movie Game Over, Man!

We're usually not ones for mushy teen romance, but we decided to give The Kissing Booth a chance, as Joey King stars as Elle, a young girl who gets into a complicated relationship with her best friend's brother(Jacob Elordi) . . . which is explicitly against their rules.

This week, we're taking a look at the sci-fi thriller Anon starring Clive Owen and Amanda Seyfried. In a possible future, where people's identities and memories can be accessed by virtually anyone, A police detective (Owen) finds himself on the trail of a serial killer, whose victims may be linked to a mysterious women (Seyfried) who's identity is completely unknown.

We get our immortal samurai on discussing the Takashi Miike film, Blade of the Immortal. When a samurai is cursed by an witch to live forever, he eventually becomes a reluctant hero to a young girl on a quest for bloody vengeance.

We decided to get real educational this week, and talk about a documentary on porn addiction. And apparently, we needed a TON of straight white men to tell us how it's destroying the lives of white men, because no one else in America (or the world, for that matter) is as affected by this crippling disease as white men. . . and maybe one or two white women, we're not sure because the women covered their faces! (**FAIR WARNING** Our convo gets a little more graphic than usual, so headphones if you're at work, people!)

This week, we're talking about the pure insanity that is Mom and Dad, in which a small town is plagued by parents turning homicidal towards their own children . . . and one of those parents is played by Nicholas Cage, so obviously . . . hilarity ensues!

Sadie (Brianna Hildebrand) and McKaylah (Alexandra Shipp) are just too good at being bad in this slasher comedy, as the two best friends embark on a blood journey to become legendary serial killers in their sleepy Midwestern town, and maybe get a few more Instagram followers along the way!
