Casting The Net

This week's episode can only be described as . . . WHAT THE F***?!?!? Because we're checking out a collection of demented horror tales that put some unique spins on some of our favorite AND not-so-favorite . . . Holidays! With a roster of directors that include Kevin Smith, Gary Shore, Adam Egypt Mortimer, Scott Stewart, Nicholas McCarthy, Dennis Widmyer and Kevin Kolsch, Sarah Adina Smith and Anthony Scott Burns, Holidays is definitely a film that sticks with you, whether you like it or not!

Tipsy Whiskey returns on this week's episode, as we discuss the horror/thriller, The Girl in the Photographs, in which a young woman is being stalked by a pair of sadistic killers who leave her photographs of their victims. Kal Penn costars in the film as a sleazy celebrity photographer looking to antagonize the killers with his own parody project, and it's made abundantly clear in this episode that one of us does NOT like his character!

How much of yourself are you willing to sacrifice for stardom? We find out on this week's episode as we talk about the indie horror flick, Starry Eyes, directed by Kevin Kolsch and Dennis Widmyer, and starring Alex Essoe, Amanda Fuller, Noah Segan, and Fabianne Therese.

On This week's episode, we get a little too excited (and Whiskey gets a little too tipsy)talking about the Netflix Original Movie, Spectral, starring James Badge Dale, Emily Mortimer, Max Martini, and Bruce Greenwood. If you're a sci-fi action movie fan, we let you know that this is the movie for you!

We're back for Episode Two, and we get super Canadian on this one, as we talk about the hilarious indie werewolf comedy, Wolfcop!!!

On the inaugural episode of Casting The Net, KenK and Whiskey dive into last year's Hush, directed and co-written/starring Kate Siegel. When a deaf/mute novelist finds herself being stalked by a sadistic serial killer, she'll have to do everything she can to survive, knowing that she won't be able to hear him coming.
