John 15
January 3, 2021
If someone or something is thriving, that means it is doing well. To thrive is to grow vigorously. Plants can thrive, businesses can thrive, people can thrive; and when they are thriving, great things are happening.
Now thrive may be the last word you are thinking about as we begin 2021. Many people are just thinking about surviving, trying to get by, living one day at time. But what if God called us to more? What if He wants you to thrive spiritually, thrive in the chaos, thrive at work and in school, thrive by giving up control?
What if we made it a goal in 2021 to thrive? I believe great things will happen in our lives, in our city, and in our faith community when we thrive.
Next Steps:
• Meditate on John 1:4-5: Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.
• What is an area you feel like God is pruning you right now?
• Turn-off all electronic devices for one hour this week.
