I behold a dark stain

not the light I was searching for

but may this lead home

eyes adjusting to

the blackness ahead

hands stretched out

desperately

to draw myself inside

cold fingers

reaching out to the dark

to scrape this body

the flesh withdrawn

the soul dissolved

and no warmth to ply

but still it holds worth inside

a wooden cage

and metal words

poison hair on glass bottles

a mind seeing hopes

just peeled away

will invent these ghosts

these foolish things

these empty stars

trailing cold light on nothingness

an eye feeling nothing

just looks away

to another world

morrow

dawn for me

starlight

guide me toward the sun

mother

find me
