Today is the release of Southern Storm: The Tragedy of Flight 242. 41 years ago on this day, Sadie Burkhalter Hurst saw a frantic stranger running toward her, his clothes ablaze, and behind him the mangled fuselage of a passenger plane that had just crashed in her front yard. From the very first page, Southern Storm takes readers behind the scenes of the crash, the flight crew, the passengers, the investigation, and the aftermath of the Flight 242 tragedy. Samme Chittum author of Southern Storm: The Tragedy of Flight 242, and the author of all the Smithsonian Air Disasters series, is available for interview from April 4th through April 20th. If youâ??d like a review copy, to schedule an interview, or have any questions please reach out. I've also attached a sample interview with the author, should you be interested.
