  • PETA's Ingrid Newkirk Discusses Her New Book
AVAILABLE FOR INTERVIEW: INGRID NEWKIRK, Author and PETA Founder
    BACKGROUND:
As humanity emerges from the pandemic and returns to offices, in-person attendance at sports events, and evenings out at restaurants, many new questions arise about our relationship with animals. Since Ingrid Newkirk founded PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) in 1980, it has become an unstoppable force and the largest animal rights organization in the world. Her latest book Animalkind explores the richness of animals’ lives, their talents, emotions, and intelligence, and how we humans can act to prevent harming them. The book delves into the many ways our modern world is leaving animal exploitation in the dust, from cutting-edge technology that is replacing experiments on animals to the apple, grape and tea leaf leathers and synthetic fibers that are already shaking up the clothing industry and the arrival of animal-free foods from plant milks to veggie “chicken” nuggets made of soy.
On March 2, Ingrid Newkirk will be available to discuss her latest book, share fascinating animal facts, and explore a vision of the future that will allow humans to create a better world—such as choosing new materials over animal hide, fur, and feathers; giving teachers and students dissection models that can be re-used and do not reduce wild frog populations; healthier and environmentally protective vegan foods that remove the need for slaughterhouses and factory farms; and virtual reality experiences that allow close encounters with animals never possible in the circus.
DID YOU KNOW THESE FUN ANIMAL FACTS?
    · While the divorce rate in the U.S. is around 40 to 45 percent, swans, like many birds, are so devoted to their romantic partners that they have a 95 percent rate of staying together for a lifetime.
    · Oinks, grunts, and squeals aren’t just arbitrary noises made by pigs. More than twenty of these sounds have been identified with specific circumstances, from wooing mates to expressing distress and joy.
    · Cows communicate with each other using subtle changes in facial expression; rhinos use a breath language; and frogs have learned to combat street noise by using drainpipes to amplify their calls.
    · Chickens form complex pecking orders in which each bird not only understands her ranking but can recall the faces and ranks of more than one hundred other birds.

  • RIGHT TO WORK EXPERT: Mark Mix
RIGHT TO WORK EXPERT: Mark Mix, is President of the National Right to Work Committee which is a 2.8 million member public policy organization. He also serves as President of the National Right to Work Legal Defense Foundation.
Environmental activists were only temporarily satisfied when President Joe Biden signed an order rescinding the Keystone XL’s pipeline’s presidential permit, but now, buoyed by Biden’s actions, they want an end to oil pipelines in the United States.
The Guardian began the trend late last week by pressing the Biden administration to take further action in the name of preventing climate change, bringing an immediate end to the oil and gas industry in the United States.
“There is every reason to celebrate the end of a decade-long fight against Keystone XL. Tribal nations and Indigenous movements hope it will be a watershed moment for bolder actions, demanding the same fates for contentious pipeline projects such as Line 3 and the Dakota Access pipeline,” a columnist for the outlet noted last week.
Environmental groups, it seems, are concerned that Biden is simply returning to Obama-era environmental standards, which were good at the time, but fall far short of those now demanded by the increasingly extremist environmental lobby.
BIO: Mark became President of the Committee and Foundation in 2003. Under the leadership of Mr. Mix, the National Right to Work Legal Defense Foundation has continued to provide unparalleled free legal assistance to workers and has utilized cutting-edge legal strategies to protect workers from the abuses of compulsory unionism. Mr. Mix frequently appears on national television shows including Fox News Channel’s Your World: With Neil Cavuto, Glenn Beck and Fox & Friends, and has also appeared multiple times on CNBC and CNN. Mr. Mix also often serves as a guest on nationally-syndicated radio shows such as the The Lars Larson Show, Jason Lewis Show, Michael Reagan Show and the Jim Bohannon Show.
Similarly, Mr. Mix’s writings have appeared in national outlets such as the Wall Street Journal, Washington Times, Investors Business Daily, Washington Examiner and National Review. His pieces have also been featured in widely-read regional publications across the country including the Detroit Free Press, the Orange County Register and the Detroit News. Mr. Mix is also a sought after speaker on political technology and grass-roots lobbying tactics. He often travels across the country, speaking and training participa

Are you a victim of SUD? (Sugar Use Disorder)
5 Simple Steps to Kick Your Sugar Cravings
An interview with health and wellness expert Dr. Julie Gatza
Are you one of the millions of people who have tried to cut down on sugar and sugary foods but found it impossible because of intense cravings?
According to the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), the average American consumes between 150 to 170 pounds of refined sugars every year. And even though we may know that excessive sugar consumption is linked to a long list of health problems -- from obesity and cardiovascular disease to joint inflammation and ADHD – most of us don’t seem to be able to stop eating sugar no matter how hard we try.
But don’t give up hope! Health educator Dr. Julie Gatza from Nature’s Sources is here with a simple 5-step strategy to help us beat our sugar cravings once and for all.
“Fortunately, once we understand the cause of our cravings, it’s not at all difficult to gradually wean ourselves off sugar, and at the same time drop down to our ideal body weight while we improve overall health and longevity,” says Dr. Gatza.
Here are Dr. Gatza’s 5 Tips for Kicking your Sugar Cravings:
Curb sugar-hungry Candida with yeast-fighting herbs: Candida albicans is a type of yeast that is naturally present in everyone’s digestive tract, and because it is a yeast, it needs sugar in order to grow. Intense craving for sugar is a warning sign that Candida levels in your digestive tract have become excessive and need to be brought under control. Dr. Gatza says one of the most effective and efficient ways to curb yeast growth is a natural anti-yeast/anti-fungal herbal extract from New Zealand’s horopito plant -- available to U.S. consumers as Kolorex. The extract attacks and kills yeast colonies and allows beneficial intestinal bacteria to flourish -- drastically reducing cravings for sugar and refined carbs.
Eat smaller, more frequent meals: If you can manage to regulate your blood sugar levels throughout the day, you will take a big step towards beating your sugar addiction. That’s because every spike in blood sugar is followed by a crash. Eating huge meals is one thing that can certainly spike your blood sugar, and it is equally certain to result in sugar cravings shortly afterward. By sticking to small portions you can prevent those cravings from happening. It’s better to eat 5 small meals eac
