Many followers of Jesus know how to say yes to Him, but fewer understand what comes next. Acts 1:8 makes it clear that the Holy Spirit empowers believers not just for their own benefit, but to be witnesses to the world around them. Jesus had to leave so that the Holy Spirit could come and dwell permanently inside every believer, a reality far greater than having Him physically present in one location. The Holy Spirit testifies about Jesus, convicts the world of sin, and guides believers into truth over time. His role is conviction, not ours. Our role is to be witnesses, sharing what Christ has done in our lives. The fruit of the Spirit growing in us, love, joy, peace, patience, and more, is not designed for ourselves alone. It is meant to nourish the people around us who have not yet experienced what we have found.
