Johns Creek UMC has a Youth Summer Intern. Izzy Miller grew up in Cumming, Georgia. She completed her BA with a double major in Biblical Studies and Christian Ministries from Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama. She has just finished up her first year of a Master of Divinity at Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur, Georgia. We are thrilled to have her as a part of the team at JCUMC. 

United Methodists use the term "confirmation" to mark the first time a baptized Christian publicly "confirms" their intention to live the vows of the baptismal and membership covenant and become a professing member of the local congregation and The United Methodist Church. Pastor Philip shares his perspectives on the confirmation process and how we live into those vows at JCUMC.

How often do we "listen" vs. actually listen? This week Pastor Philip shares about listening on repeat and how we can be better listeners for our youth, as well as for one another. Jesus shows us that listening is worth repeating and with a bit of practice we can all be better listeners in all of our relationships.

Relationships can grow through deep conversations and study but they can also grow through shared "fun" experiences. Games and fun activities are an important part of what we do at Catalyst gatherings and having time to just cut loose and be kids can be a much-needed respite from the stresses of school, team sports, and life in general. This week Pastor Philip shares a little about the "Fun Night" gatherings that are a part of our regular Catalyst schedule.

Youth Sunday is a vital part of the ministries of Johns Creek UMC and it offers us the opportunity to showcase the many talents of our teens. Pastor Philip shares a bit about what Youth Sunday means to him and how we can be a part of this special service in the life of our Church.
