  • What God Has Revealed That Human Wisdom Could Never Discover — 1 Corinthians 2:6–10

    Send us Fan Mail

What if the greatest minds in the world could never discover what God has already revealed to those who love Him?

In 1 Corinthians 2:6–10, the Apostle Paul reveals an extraordinary truth: God's wisdom is fundamentally different from human wisdom. It was hidden for ages, established before time began, and destined for our glory.

Yet the rulers of this age failed to recognize it. Paul declares that if they had understood God's wisdom, they would never have crucified the Lord of glory.

Drawing from the prophet Isaiah, Paul makes a remarkable declaration:

"Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him." — 1 Corinthians 2:9 (NKJV)

But Paul does not stop there. In verse 10, he reveals something even more extraordinary: God has revealed these things to us through His Spirit.

What human intelligence, worldly philosophy, and earthly power could never discover, God has graciously made known through His Holy Spirit.

In this verse-by-verse Bible teaching, we explore:

    • What Paul means by speaking wisdom among the mature.
    • Why God's wisdom is different from the wisdom of this world.
    • The mystery God established before time began for our glory.
    • Why the rulers of this age failed to recognize the Lord of glory.
    • What Paul means when he declares that eye has not seen and ear has not heard.
    • How the Holy Spirit reveals God's wisdom to those who love Him.

This passage reminds us that understanding God's purposes is not simply a matter of human intelligence or education. True spiritual understanding comes through God's gracious revelation.

  • What Do We Really Have to Boast About? - 1 Corinthians 1:28–31

    Send us Fan Mail

What do we really have to boast about?

The world celebrates wealth, intelligence, influence, accomplishments, status, and talent. But in 1 Corinthians 1:28–31, the Apostle Paul presents a radically different standard.

God deliberately chose the lowly things of the world, the despised things, and the things that are not, to nullify the things that are—so that no one may boast before Him.

Paul then takes us even deeper. For those who are in Christ Jesus, Christ has become for us wisdom from God—our righteousness, holiness, and redemption.

So what is actually ours to boast about?

In this verse-by-verse Bible teaching, we will explore why God overturns the world's standards of greatness, why human achievement can never become the basis of our standing before Him, and what Paul means when he declares:

“Let the one who boasts boast in the Lord.”

This passage challenges us to examine where we find our significance, what we take pride in, and whether we have truly internalized the reality that everything we have and everything we are ultimately comes from the Lord.

  • What If Our Idea of God Is Wrong? — 1 Corinthians 1:22–25

    Send us Fan Mail

What if our idea of God is wrong?

When we evaluate something, we usually have certain expectations. We decide what it should look like, what it should do, and whether it meets our criteria.

But what happens when we do the same thing with God?

In 1 Corinthians 1:22–25, the Apostle Paul confronts two very different expectations. The Jews demanded signs. The Greeks sought wisdom. Yet Paul preached something that seemed to satisfy neither:

    Christ crucified.

To the Jews, Christ crucified was a stumbling block. To the Gentiles, the message appeared to be foolishness. But to those whom God called, Christ was—and remains—the power of God and the wisdom of God.

In this Bible teaching, we will examine why the cross challenged the expectations of both Jews and Gentiles, why God's wisdom can appear foolish according to human standards, and what this passage means for the way we evaluate Jesus today.

Could we be rejecting God's wisdom simply because it does not look the way we expected?

Join me as we study 1 Corinthians 1:22–25 and discover why what the world calls foolishness reveals the extraordinary wisdom and power of God.

  • Why Paul Said Christians Must Stop Following Personalities — 1 Corinthians 1:10–17

    Send us Fan Mail

    Who are you really following?

In 1 Corinthians 1:10–17, the Apostle Paul confronts a serious problem developing in the church

at Corinth. Christians were dividing themselves according to their preferred leaders. Some were

saying, “I follow Paul,” others, “I follow Apollos,” and still others, “I follow Cephas.”

Paul responds with three searching questions:

“Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Were you baptized in the name of Paul?”

More than two thousand years later, Paul's warning remains remarkably relevant.

There is nothing wrong with appreciating faithful pastors, teachers, and Christian leaders. But

what happens when our loyalty to a personality begins to overshadow our identity in Jesus

Christ? What happens when admiration for Christian leaders creates divisions among the very

people Christ has called to be united?

In this Bible teaching from 1 Corinthians 1:10–17, we examine Paul's appeal for Christians to be

united in mind and thought, why he refused to allow believers to build their identity around him,

and why he ultimately turned their attention away from human personalities and back to Jesus

Christ and the power of the cross.

    Together, we will consider:

    • Why divisions developed in the Corinthian church

    • What Paul meant by “I follow Paul,” “I follow Apollos,” and “I follow Cephas”

    • Why Paul asked, “Is Christ divided?”

    • Why Paul discussed the people he personally baptized

    • What it means to be united in mind and thought

    • Why the gospel must remain centered on Christ rather than human personalities

    • What this passage means for Christians and churches today

The question Paul raised in Corinth still confronts us today:

    Who are you really following?
