Long story short. I am dying to go fishing again. It's been a couple of weeks now, thanks to weird December weather and the holiday season. Normally the weather in the Keys dries out when December rolls around. Not this year! Hopefully it will straighten itself out so I can get back out there and do what I love... FISH!

I have been very lucky to have been able to fish and explore the Everglades. It's an amazing place with an abundance of wildlife. Water movement to the Glades has been hindered over the years with development, but a coalition of folks from all walks of life and politics has finally come together to save this fantastic paradise. Another year has gone by, so decided to spend the weekend in Key West. Weather was way to lousy to fish, but great for exploring on foot and with eating and libations. Also was lucky enough to be there for the Hogfish Bar's 20th anniversary. Got to meet one of my longtime musical idols. Tune it and listen!

Observation is what I believe is the number one thing needed to catch fish on a regular basis. Not the latest tackle nor the latest gear. Some anglers seem to have a sixth sense when it comes to catching fish. Maybe so, but I think catching fish has more to do with repetition and observation.
