As we follow the Shorter Catechism's lead up to the Ten Commandments we've come to Question 41: Q Wherein is the moral law summarily comprehended?

A The Moral Law is summarily comprehended in the Ten Commandments. In this episode we talk about how the morality summarized in the Ten Commandments is present and central throughout all scripture.

As we move towards the Ten Commandments we discuss the Catechism's distinction of the Moral Law as unique from Civil and Ceremonial laws. Distinctions like this help us know how to follow God's commands and why we keep some laws today and not others. Enjoy!

A. The benefits in this life which accompany or flow from justification, adoption and sanctification are: assurance of God’s love, peace of conscience, joy in the Holy Spirit, progress in holiness, and perseverance in it to this life’s end.
