The missionary impulse is a natural fruit of the Trinity, as we witnessed in 1876 when Benedictines came to present-day Ashland, KS and witnessed again this weekend with ordination of Deacon Juan Salas for the Diocese of Dodge City.

Jesus knew that it was better for Him to return to the Father, but He also remains with us in two specific ways.

What a vocation we've been given: to reflect the very love of God in life. Take that seriously, and remembering one's own sin, there is every reason to fear. But it can be done.

Our decision to sever (or to strengthen) our relationship with Jesus will have an effect, even though it may not become evident until further down the road.

If one has never heard the Shepherd speak, or if the voice has grown dim, it is all a matter of opinion, of prejudice and preference. But when one hears the voice of the other, one opens, submits, or, better, one is submerged in something other than the self. Like her Jesus, Joan was a martyr. Neither could deny the voice they heard.

Chastity is a beautiful "yes" to God's plan for our bodies--the very bodies that will one day rise forever like His.

Regret is the grace no one wants, but if we change because of it, it is the wound that gives life.

The Hidden Christians of Japan give us a powerful example that even when everything on the surface is gone, the law of Christ is still written on our hearts.

Yes, evil and delusion roam the imagination, but that's also where God and grace are to be found. It's in the imagination that sin does battle with the Spirit, where the human becomes the heavenly.

There are many ways to keep the Lord's Day holy, and we start by recognizing the difference between the rule and the exception.
