In this episode I recount the personal experiences of how Catherine Cookson changed the lives of three generations of women: my grandma, my mum and me. What I hope to show is that Catherine Cookson is a woman who empowers other women and has something to offer everyone.
Following from my previous episode I have since discovered more incidents of Catherine being forgotten or misremembered, which has turned my celebration into a crusade. I explore the many reasons why Catherine remains relevant and why I will do my best to honour her legacy.
Before commencing with my readathon of all of Catherine Cookson's works in chronological order, I provide some thoughts on her legacy.
