The Fourth of July can bring unexpected waves of grief. Barbecues, fireworks, family gatherings, empty chairs, and traditions can all remind you of the person you love.
Instead of hoping you'll "get through it," what if you went into the holiday with a plan?
In this episode, I share why having a grief plan can lower anxiety, help you feel more in control, and give yourself permission to change course when emotions become overwhelming. I'll walk you through my own three-step approach:
Option A: If you're feeling emotionally and physically well enough to participate.
Option B: If grief begins to feel heavy and you need to make adjustments.
Option C: If you realize you simply need to step away and care for yourself.
There is no right or wrong way to grieve. There is only the invitation to listen to what your heart needs.
If you're looking for additional support throughout the summer, I also share my video series, Grief Doesn't Take the Summer Off, designed to help you navigate vacations, family gatherings, holidays, and all the unique challenges that summer can bring while grieving.
You don't have to figure this out alone.
I love you, and we'll take the next steps together.
