Cave Spring Baptist Church

Discover how reflecting on our former separation from God deepens our gratitude for the hope and nearness we now possess through the blood of Christ.

This Sunday, we continue our Advent series in Ephesians 2, focusing on the powerful pivot in verse 4: "But God." We explore how God, rich in mercy and great in love, steps into our world to bring us from spiritual death to life. Whether through the lens of A Christmas Carol or moving personal testimonies, we see that true aliveness is found only when we experience the great love with which He loved us.

In this Sermon, we continue our Advent celebration by focusing on the peace that comes through Jesus Christ. Exploring Ephesians 2, we uncover the "triple threat" of the world, the flesh, and the devil that seeks to separate us from God. Ultimately, we look to the "Great Exchange," where Jesus steps in to offer grace and peace to the guilty.

Christmas is here—and this sermon invites us to slow down and remember why it matters. From Ephesians 2:1–2, we explore the honest reality of our spiritual deadness apart from Christ and the breathtaking hope that Advent announces. Like skeletons wrapped in holiday cheer, we can appear alive while carrying deep inner emptiness...but Jesus steps into our lifelessness to breathe life, hope, and rescue.
