The first episode of the Comic Book Book Club and we discuss the first 6 issues of Joss Whedon's Astonishing X-Men run. We have a lively discussion about the six issues (and more). We talk about our past experiences with comic books and The X-Men, the team put together in Astonishing X-Men, Scott and Emma and are they bad, the idea of mutants being a metaphor for homosexuality or race and whether that's an overused idea in the X-Men, the relationships between the characters and more.
