Revelation 3:1-2 -

Leviticus 18:18-20:27 - Leviticus 18 - 20 all deal with our holiness. Holiness is our relationship to God (righteousness is our relationship with each other). These chapters deal with sexual immorality (fornication, adultery, homosexuality, etc) and child sacrifice (abortion). God "who has separated you from the peoples" expects us to seek His ways and seek after holiness (Hebrews 12:14). It is only by having His Holy Spirit in us that we can walk in holiness!

Revelation 3:1 - Even though The Church at Sardis had a lot of activity, it was a spiritually dead church. Sardis itself was a very wealth city and because of this they would tend to not lean on the God of their Salvation for their needs. This is very similar to Western Protestantism. Pastor Rit covers the first verse in the Letter to Sardis and reviews other accounts in the Bible where the Spirit of God left (spiritual death) but the people didn't even realize because they were so focused on themselves.

Leviticus 14:1-17:16 - Leviticus 14 covers how to cleanse lepers and leprous plagues in homes. Leviticus 15 deals with bodily discharges. Leviticus 16 deals specifically with The Day of Atonement and Leviticus 17 deals with the place of sacrifice and the Law against eating blood.

Revelation 2:18-29 - Pastor Rit continues his teaching on the Church at Thyatira. As we learned last week, Thyatira means "continual sacrifice" and represents Romanism.

Leviticus 11:1-13:59 - This portion of Leviticus covers the clean and the unclean. It is said that we would live much healthier lives if we followed the dietary laws set forth here by God in Leviticus.

Leviticus 10:1-20 - Nadab and Abihu "offered profane fire before the LORD" and "fire went out from the LORD and devoured them". While we enjoy the doctrine of Mercy - not getting what we deserve - we still need to ensure that we do not offer "profane fire" in the choices we make in life. In 1 Corinthians 3:16-17 (NKJV), the Apostle Paul tells us "Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? If anyone defiles the temple of God, God will destroy him. For the temple of God is holy, which temple you are." We are living temples of God because His Spirit dwells in us - may we keep His temple pure and holy by the choices we make!

Revelation 2:18-29 - The Letter to the Church at Thyatira. Thyatira means "continual sacrifice" and is often associated to the Roman Catholic Papacy. The Church of Thyatira is also called the "Compromised Church" and can be associated with the current Western Church. May our "works" for the Lord not be compromised or contaminated by the world we live in!
