I hear a lot about the topic of identity, but why is it actually so important?

We had a group activity to help understand how identity shapes our lives, so I've cut out the time given for group discussion so you wouldn't have to listen to minutes of silence.

If we are at war against our flesh, how can we do battle for pure hearts? How can we keep from mere "purity-betterment," but gospel transformation?

WHY should I pursue purity? Does God just tell us what to do without any good reasons for his commands?

What is our biggest problem when it comes to sexual purity?

And what is purity exactly?

Next week we'll talk about WHY Christians should pursue purity, as well as the promise that purity holds out to us

Obeying God's commands will always lead you to life, which includes the following 2 circumstances…

1. Obey God WHEN you are suffering for your foolishness (vv.1-19)
2. Obey God BEFORE you suffer for your foolishness (vv.20-35)

6 warnings to keep you far away from sexual sin...

1. You need your ears tuned to superior wisdom (vv.1-2)

2. The temptation to sin will be strong (v.3)

3. There is a devastating end to your sin (vv.4-6, 11-14)

4. If you get close, you will get cut (vv.7-10)

5. You cannot neglect God's great design for sex (vv.15-19)

6. Your sin will strangle you (vv.20-23)
