Jesus, You’re Late… Right on Time!

Sometimes we ask, “Jesus, where are You?” But God is saying, “I’m not late. I’m right on time.”

Today, we are blessed to hear from Deacon Dr. Joshua Modeste, preaching under the powerful title: “BURN THE CHARIOTS.” Doctor Joshua Modeste message comes from Joshua chapter 11 in the New Living Translation, where Joshua is facing an enemy army that is massive, powerful, and equipped with something Israel had never seen before—iron chariots.

The enemy looked stronger.

The enemy looked better equipped.

The enemy appeared impossible to defeat.

But God told Joshua in Joshua 11:6, “Do not be afraid of them.”

What a powerful word!

God was reminding Joshua that the size of the enemy does not determine the outcome when God is on your side. What looks impossible to you is never impossible for God.

And then Joshua did something remarkable.

Joshua 11:9 says that Joshua burned their chariots.

Why would Joshua burn the chariots?

Because God was teaching Israel not to depend on the weapons of their enemies. The chariots represented the strength, power, and advantage that had intimidated them. But once God gave them victory, Joshua made sure those chariots could never become a source of fear again.

Sometimes, God will give you victory over the very thing that once intimidated you.

And when God gives you that victory, don't keep the chariot—burn it!

Burn the fear. Burn the doubt.

Burn the intimidation.

Burn the dependence on what looks powerful in the natural.

Joshua 11 reminds us that God does not need our enemy to be weak for us to win. He only needs us to trust Him.

In this message, Deacon Carlos challenges believers to examine who or what truly has first place in their lives. In today's world, many people are drawn to the pursuit of money, fame, power, social media influence, and worldly status, often placing these above God.

Yet none of these things can compare to the eternal blessings, peace, and purpose that come from serving the Lord. Joshua's declaration reminds us that every person must make a choice.

Will we serve the temporary things of this world, or will we faithfully serve the living God? This sermon calls us to reject the distractions of the world and wholeheartedly commit ourselves to the One who alone is worthy of our worship and obedience.

Apostle Dr. Axel Pacheco brought a powerful message at CCBNYC titled "Breaking the Power of the Curse." Using the New Living Translation (NLT), he showed how Jesus broke the curse of sin through His death on the cross and gave us new life in Him.
