Max was the first student from Kazakhstan to come to BYUH. He grew up as a shepherd boy sitting on a horse in the desert while herding over 2000 sheep. He served his mission in Ukraine and was recommended to come to BYUH by a senior missionary couple. Today, he works for Shell Oil and Gas as a Key Account Manager.  Listen as he shares his story to BYU Hawaii and beyond.

Francis and Lynette Ho Ching started their journey 35 years ago at BYU-Hawaii as students, were married in the Hawaii Temple in 1987, and have made Laie their home for 34 years. In 2018, Francis and Lanett were called to preside over the Samoa Apia Mission. There, they experienced their greatest conversion.

Paul Staples, a broker/owner and real estate investor of Staples Reality will share his insights about being self-employed and the co-founder of a non-profit, IHHELPP. Paul is an alumnus of BYU Hawaii and met his wife Lolita at school and graduated in 1986. 

Api Tora, alumnus from Fiji, worked at the Polynesian Cultural Center for 28 years and will share his story about his conversion to the church and coming to BYU Hawaii for school, meeting his wife and developing his talent and love for culture. 

Elder Roger & Sister Marsha McCarty served as seniors missionaries for the past 3-years and brought the "On-Campus Internship" (OCI) program to BYU Hawaii. Brother McCarty will share how he got the inspiration for this program and started it at BYU Provo. The McCartys have helped many students get internship experience with many companies while taking their OCI class at BYU Hawaii. They have been a blessing to our students.

Join us as we talk story with Randy Booth, alumnus of CCH/BYUH who started Showcase Hawaii and then the Young Ambassadors at BYU Provo. He will share his journey to BYU Hawaii and beyond. Bobby Akoi, a former showcase member and good friend will host this along with Lei Cummings from the Ho'okele department.

Bret Grow is the Director of Digital Marketing & Ecommerce at the Polynesian Cultural Center. He is also an alumnus of BYU Hawaii. He will speak with student host, Natasya Haridas, a senior from Singapore majoring in Business Management with an emphasis in Marketing. 

Phil Bruner is a professor in the Science department at BYU Hawaii. He is also an alumnus of the Church College of Hawaii and came here shortly after he completed his mission to New Zealand. Kerry Moeai is a Therapist at the Bobby Benson Center and Adjunct Faculty in the Faculty of Education & Social Work at BYU Hawaii. Kerry is also an alumnus and will meet with our student host, Viema Taito, a junior majoring in Social Work at BYU Hawaii.

Eric and Anne met at BYU Hawaii as students. Anne grew up in Laie and her parents taught on campus. Eric's mom is a CCH alumna and met his dad at BYU-Hawaii. visited the Polynesian Cultural Center as a young boy. Today he is Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer for the Polynesian Cultural Center and Anne is an Adjunct Professor at BYU Hawaii. Listen to their journey to BYU Hawaii and beyond.
