Nepotism is based on favoritism granted to relatives in various fields, including business, politics, entertainment, sports, religion and other activities. The term originated with the assignment of nephews to important positions by Catholic popes and bishops. It is believed that Bollywood is a tough turf to manoeuvre for rank outsiders and star kids have it relatively easy. Kangana Ranaut, who is known to speak her mind fearlessly, sparked off a major debate on favouritism in the industry. During her appearance on Karan Johar’s popular chat show, she called the filmmaker “a flag-bearer of nepotism and movie mafia”. Karan promptly retaliated by saying that he has promoted many talents who are outsiders and that Kangana always plays the “victim card”. This led to a war of words and the two stars have been at loggerheads ever since. While it sparked off a debate on nepotism, our B-town stars stand divided on the issue. Here’s a look at what the leading actors of today had to say on the subject…The Film Employees Federation of Kerala (FEFKA) on Thursday asked actor Neeraj Madhav to furnish more details on his allegations about the ‘hierarchy’ and nepotism existing in the Malayalam film industry.FEFKA general secretary Unnikrishnan B said the association cannot look into the issue unless the actor divulges details including the people who have treated him badly on the film sets. FEFKA has sent an official mail to A.M.M.A (Association of Malayalam Movie Makers), urging the actors’ association to ask Neeraj to give more details. “Neeraj has raised serious allegations and said lobbying exists in Mollywood. However, it was a generalised allegation. He has to provide specific details like which production controller/technicians behaved in the manner he describes in the social media post. Only then will we be able to look into theses claims,” said Unnikrishnan. In a Facebook post on Wednesday, Neeraj claimed that actors without godfathers and those not part of the ‘clique’ face various hurdles in Mollywood. Neeraj has made the allegations at a time when Bollywood has been discussing mental health and nepotism in the film industry following the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput.Unlike Hindi or Telugu movie industries, Malayalam doesn’t have family dynasties which controls chunks of the industry. While in many industries nepotism is a common trait, in Malayalam it is comparatively lesser. It is mainly due to many factors including the film literacy of the audience and of course – the fate and talent of the actor. If it were otherwise, Prem Nazir’s son, Shanavas should have become a huge star, considering his dad’s incredible fan following
We here try to react on the current police roasting video along with topics such as Helen of Sparta, Fukru, Elephant Issue, Arjyou etc.
A roast is a form of humor in which a specific individual, a guest of honor, is subjected to jokes at their expense, intended to amuse the event's wider audience. Such events are intended to honor a specific individual in a unique way. In addition to jokes and insult comedy, such events may also involve genuine praise and tributes. The implication is that the roastee is able to take the jokes in good humor and not as serious criticism or insult. The individual is surrounded by friends, fans, and well-wishers, who can receive some of the same treatment as well during the course of the evening. The party and presentation itself are both referred to as a "roast". The host of the event is called the "roastmaster". Anyone who is mocked in such a way is said to have been "roasted".
