  • The Great Convictions of a Great Christian - Part 2

Life has but one great goal for the Christian, and that is to find God’s will for their life and do it. In Colossians, Paul’s life work, his profession, was exactly what God wanted him to do. He followed the will of God for his life. Paul did not choose his life’s work, for he did not want to make a mistake. He did not want to waste his life. To Paul, there was but one work or profession: the job God wanted him to do. The profession he wanted did not matter; only God’s will for his life mattered.
There is only one profession for any believer: the work God wants him to do. God has put every believer upon earth for a specific task. Jesus says “If any man will do his will, he shall know the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether it be of man. (John 7:17). Don’t miss this Sunday as we look at The Great Pillars of The Christian Life, as we continue our study in Colossians.

  • The Great Convictions of a Great Christian - Part 1

When we study Paul’s epistles, we see that each letter has a dominant theme. In Romans, the theme is justification by faith. In Ephesians, it is the mystery of Christ and his church. In Philippians, he focuses on the joy which Christ brings. In Colossians, it is the absolute supremacy and sufficiency of Jesus Christ as the Head of all creation and the church. There is no book in the New Testament which presents such a comprehensive picture of the fullness of Christ. There is no writing better-equipped to draw us upward than the book of Colossians. This Sunday, the title of the message is “The Great Convictions of a Great Christian”.

  • What the Resurrection Means to Us

The passion and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ are the cardinal doctrines of our Christian faith. In the Gospels we have the redemptive event; in Acts we have the redemptive experience, and in the Epistles we have the redemptive explanation of the death and resurrection of our Lord. The Apostle Paul, in particular majors on this theme in all of his writings, and insists that it is the ground of salvation and the goal of our sanctification and service. On Easter morning, we will examine what the resurrection means to us. Jesus is alive!

  • The Prayer of Faith

Spring is around the corner. Many of the Psalms deal with various problems and adverse circumstances because we experience so much trouble through life. Thus the Holy Spirit has inspired numerous psalms of lament to help us when we struggle with difficult problems. In Psalm 4, David finds peace through prayer and through trusting God to help him. David understood what Faith Praying was all about. This Sunday we will look at The Prayer of Faith. When we understand how to pray in faith, pouring out our hearts to God, we will be able to sleep like David did, in spite of the overwhelming trouble facing him. Don't miss this much needed truth.

  • The Testing of Faith

The title of the message is "The Trial of Faith" from Psalm 3. This Psalm was written by David when he was fleeing from his son Absalom. As the rejected King, David describes his trials and testings and then his final triumph through Jehovah his God. We can relate to this human drama, because the same trials and sorrows are common to all Christians. Come worship and study with us this Sunday, as we see how we can have victory through faith over difficult situations. Don't miss this life changing truth that will change your attitude toward your trials!
