You are listening to Episode 21 with Samantha Dhu.
Hello listeners and a very warm welcome to today's episode! I can't believe how fast the end of the year is approaching, I don't know about you but it feels like everything has gone up a notch and parents in the school car park are driving just that little more erratically. However, does the festive season really need to be like this are there ways we can in fact relax and enjoy this period with our over excited kids?
I'm happy to say that there is and that is why I've invited Samantha Dhu on the show today.
So now let me introduce you to Sam. Sam is a Mindset Transformation Coach, Clinical Social Worker and highly qualified Psychotherapist. She works with modern-day business women juggling many roles to go from overwhelmed and stuck to energised and aligned.
Sam lives in Perth, Australia with her husband Nick and three and a half year old daughter Amelie.
Sam is all about doing Christmas on your terms and that we need to remind ourselves the stories we tell ourselves around Christmas, swapping them over from this season being hard a hard one, that we have to say yes to everything and buy everything over to choosing this Christmas to be a relaxed and enjoyable experience with family.
Sam also talks about:
- The difference between Mum guilt and shame which is a take on what we perceive as 'Mum guilt' that I've never heard before and is something that will help me and I'm sure will help many of you too.
- How Sam performs small acts of mindfulness throughout the day and deep belly breathing to assist with stress
- How Sam has noticed that with many of the Mums she works with they feel torn between being a mother and their business
I hope you love this episode as much as I did and it helps you have a relaxed and enjoyable Christmas.
