From domestic abuse to building self-esteem and love with Lisa Johnson
Survivor of domestic violence, torture and abuse for 9 years, Lisa Johnson re-built her life one very gentle step at a time and now empowers women to take that next step together with compassion and gentleness.
Her coaching and mentoring service: Pearl Lifestyles is a space for women who suffer from low self-esteem to rediscover who they are, build themselves up, learn to value and look after themselves as they should and enjoy loving, caring, healthy relationships with others.
"I know how debilitating low self-esteem can be ; never feeling good enough, always putting yourself last, disliking yourself, feeling invisible / unimportant, feeling unworthy of others time, love and attention. It can stop you knowing and going for what you want in life, finding and maintaining healthy relationships, looking after yourself properly and fulfilling your potential.
Low self-esteem often develops as result of past damaging situations, experiences or relationships shaping how you think and feel about yourself today. Or it can be as simple as the fact that you have forgotten who you are after years of putting everyone else before you.
However, just as a pearl normally forms from a parasite / irritant entering an oyster by that oyster adding layers and layers of protection, you can emerge as the wonderfully, beautiful, valuable, unique YOU, you were always destined to be - by adding layers of self awareness, self acceptance, self respect and self love, over-powering those irritating, uncomfortable feelings and thoughts of low self-esteem and low self-confidence.
I therefore developed Pearl Lifestyles because I really, really want other women to feel great about themselves on the inside and outside ! To feel comfortable in their own skin, to feel free to be themselves, to value and appreciate themselves and to fulfil their potential. To focus on the present and future rather than the past.
My services are based on the foundation of a healthy lifestyle in order to build a healthy mind, body and spirit. A healthy diet, regular exercise and a positive mindset is key in building self-esteem and self-confidence, enabling you to enjoy all that you are. This gives you the freedom to explore new opportunities, try new things and make the most of who you are now. We focus on moving forwards - this is not a place to dwell on the past, it is a place to accept where and who we are right now and move on.
