Celebration Church

How should home base be treated in the life of a Christian? We tackle that question in this series and we continue by establishing that our home should be a holy place. Home is the center of true spiritual growth, and if we keep this in mind then we should also know that discipleship begins at home. As Pastor Brandon teaches through the scriptures today we see that engaging with the presence of God at home can change things forever. We also need to keep in mind that the natural progression of opening up your home and making it the center of our spiritual growth leads to "sitting at the Lord's feet". Ultimately, we should treat home as holy, because it is.

We are covering the third base of our Home Field Advantage this week by talking about the Home Team, and what that means for us as Christians. As we journey through this series we establish each time, that as we get to know God better and trust Him more, the biggest advantage happens at home. As Pastor Brandon teaches from the Scriptures, we see that our first place of ministry is at home and to truly trust God in anything, He must come first. We are also encouraged that if following Jesus has a bumpy start in your home, that God is working for restoration and forgiveness. Ultimately, placing God first in our lives means loving the people He first placed in our lives.

Pastor Brandon leads us through the second part of our series "Home Field Advantage" by informing us that there is often times a challenge at the home field. There is a disadvantage because the home crowd can often be the tough crowd. And one of the toughest parts of our calling as Christians is to take those principles home. But Pastor Brandon encourages us today to not let being overlooked by others make you think you are being overlooked by God. As we take a look at David's life and Jesus' teachings in this message, we learn that we can trust in God's plan and be able to love those who don't understand.

Pastor Weston Clark wraps up our "The Classics Vol. 4" series by diving into the story of the 12 spies from Israel! Specifically looking at the faithfulness of Caleb and Joshua in the wilderness when tasked with scouting out the promised land. Their lives show us what it means to know God better and trust Him more. The truths we can cling to from this story are that we all have a great purpose full of God's promise, but we cant let our perspective dictate those promises. Instead, let God's promises dictate our perspective. Instead of focusing on the challenges our eyes see, focus on the promises the Lord has said.

Specifically, we will be diving into the story of "The Three". Who faced trials in life that were, by our perspective, unwinnable; however, we know that what is impossible for man is possible with God! With God we can face impossible odds, we can stand our ground, and we can win in unfamiliar territory. Ultimately, with God, our story changes.

This week we take a look at the classic story of King Saul, the king appointed by the demand of the Israelite people. For years the Lord had been their one and only king, however, the Israelites saw that the other nations all had kings and so they demanded one as well. The Lord knew where it would lead but appointed a king anyway. Pastor Brandon guides us through this classic story of King Saul and we learn that trying to be like everyone else always causes problems, wanting something better than everybody else always causes problems, and trying to take things into your own hands always causes problems. Through this story we ultimately learn that anything but God's way is the wrong way.
