As we kick off our new series during the advent season, called "Classic Christmas", we lead off with this idea that every Christmas is a celebration that God made a way where there was no way. Pastor Brandon reminds us that God gave us the way to Him through Jesus; Jesus is the only way out of sin and death. Jesus is also the way out of worthlessness. As we wrap up our "Essentials" series, we tackle a subject that tends to be tough for many to hear. How generosity is essential to our growth as Christians. The truth is that living a generous life helps us to know God better and trust Him more. God was generous with us and gave His Son as a gift, so, we should be inspired to be generous as well. Inviting God into your finances helps us to see where we are at and how to take our next step forward from there. Forsaking the "consumption assumption", we prepare our hearts to always ask where our resources need to go, each time they touch our hands. And a heart of generosity helps us to love God and love others. The ultimate truth this week is that generosity is essential to maturing in Christ.

We dive into the third essential aspect of maturing in our faith this week with Colton Ernst teaching about fellowship. Fellowship is absolutely essential in how we grow in our faith, because "one can acquire everything in solitude, except character." God uses fellowship to grow us and to keep us built up and protected. If you distance yourself from fellowship then you make yourself an easy target. Fellowship is essential!

We start a new series this week, in which we go over the essentials of our Christian walks and how important they are to our spiritual growth. Answering the questions of "where am I?" and "which way forward from here?" when it comes to prayer, word, fellowship, witnessing and giving, helps challenge us to grow into the fullness of life that God has for us. Each of which will be discussed in the following weeks. This week, however, is about the "why" behind doing this. Its because to know God better and trust Him more, there are some essential elements that help our lives to flourish. Pastor Brandon shows us that the Holy Spirit will teach us the things that God, through salvation, has freely given us. We also learn that true growth is growing in loving God and loving others. We wrap up our "Home Field Advantage" series this week with learning that life outside of your home is impacted by what you do inside your home. Pastor Brandon teaches us today that God shapes the biggest part of our lives through the little things we do with him each day; and He shapes the world through the daily lives of his children. We don't have to worry about tiring out in the daily time we take with God either, as our hope in Jesus gives us the endurance we need to live this life at home. Ultimately, we learn that home is where the harvest is, because home is the center of spiritual growth.

That "love thy neighbor" starts with the people you share a roof and heritage with. Pastor Brandon teaches us today that serving at home is a baseline for spiritual leadership and that you can love your family by being a servant leader.
