Today's Host: Sam West

Sam West, Owner and Operator Chick-fil-A, Commerce, GA. There were over 30,000 applicants who sought the Chick-fil-A Commerce franchise location, Chick-fil-A selected Sam.

Born in Phillip, Mississippi, Sam completed his undergraduate studies at Alcorn State University, Lorman, Mississippi. In 1982 he graduated from the Kenan School of Business, at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, Executive Management Program.

He began his career with HSBC (formerly HFC) in 1980. In 1989 he became HSBC first African American Executive in the Midwest Region, serving as Assistant Vice President of Human Resources. In 1980 he was promoted to Vice President of Training and Development in Elmhurst, Illinois. Just two years later Sam was promoted to Vice President (DSM) of Sales, managing $250 million plus in receivables. During his tenure he was selected premier manager 1988, and executive of the year in both 1992 and 1995. Sam appeared in the 1996 issue of Money Magazine.

Sam then served as President of 1st Fidelity Mortgage, Prairie Village, Kansas where he increased the company revenue by $1.5 million or more for 10 consecutive years. Sam received several leadership and community awards while serving in his role at 1st Fidelity.

Sam and His wife, Diann of 45 years, have two sons and six grandchildren.

During this podcast, we'll discuss why how we manage our finances matters to God as well as practical tips for getting our finances in order.

Today's Host: Tonya Douglas, a Licensed Professional Counselor, Certified Professional Clinical Supervisor and Certified Anxiety Specialist. She is the owner of A Beautiful Exchange Counseling and Consulting. She obtained her Master of Science in Clinical and Mental Health Counseling from Mercer University. She has experience in treating a multitude of emotional and behavioral issues across
all age ranges.

Her goal as a therapist is to provide a safe, supportive and nonjudgmental environment for her clients to process their past and move towards a healthier future.
