Payton Pritchard is coming off a season in which he started the most games in his NBA career making 50 starts and also averaged career high in points averaging 17. Noa believes their is still another level to his game that he hasn’t even reached yet and with Jaylen Brown out from the Celtics she believes Pritchard could unlock even more in his offensive game if he’s inserted into the starting lineup.

The Celtics 1st round pick last year Hugo Gonzalez had a year that saw be in and out of the rotation. Following the official release of the 2026–2027 NBA schedule, CLNS Media’s John Zannis and Bobby Manning broke down the most intriguing matchups for the upcoming Boston Celtics season. Unsurprisingly, the dominant topic of conversation was the return date of former NBA Finals MVP Jaylen Brown.

Brown, who anchored the Celtics for the first decade of his career and helped deliver the 2024 championship, was traded to the division-rival Philadelphia 76ers earlier this summer. Despite early expectations that the league would showcase his return to TD Garden early in the season, Boston fans will have to wait until January 21, 2027, to welcome the legendary Celtic back.

Bobby Manning expressed genuine surprise over the delayed timing of the homecoming matchup:

“I would have guessed his return would happen in November and it certainly wasn't featured on Christmas Day like many of us assumed…In fact, it really didn't come out in that first slate of games and leaks at all, which was slightly surprising to me.”

Ultimately, while the wait will be longer than anticipated, January 21st is officially locked in as one of the most emotional and highly anticipated dates on the Celtics' calendar.

Jaylen Brown had his introductory press conference yesterday as a Philadelphia 76er. After spending his first 10 years in Boston Brown was shipped off to Philly in a deal involving Paul George and future picks. And the introductory press conference Brown was asked about his now former Celtic co-star and running mate Jayson Tatum who had spent the past 9 seasons with and won a championship. The question revolved around their relationship and if they had spoken since the trade.

"Not really"

"We won a championship together... Obviously there's ups and downs in any type of relationship. On my end, it's nothing but respect."

"Besides when he plays the Sixers, I hope he does well."

"It's bizarre to not have heard, or for the two of them to not have spoken since that trade. It's legitimately weird."

Bobby Manning had this to say on Jaylen Brown’s comments on Jayson Tatum:

“Jayson could’ve stepped up for [Jaylen] and had his back and said ‘no don’t move him,’ and he didn’t…I think that that’s why Jaylen might feel some type of way about Jayson.”
