Former Celtics star Paul Pierce returns to Boston for the final time as a NBA player with the Los Angeles Clippers.

The Maine Red Claws were blown out of their own building Thursday night against the Delaware 87ers (Philadelphia 76ers affiliate), losing 109-90, and committing 18 turnovers in the process.

Saturday night at the Portland Expo Building in Portland, Maine, the Red Claws received a little bit of redemption as they were able to survive an incredible comeback by the Sevens, prevailing 131-125 in overtime.

Celtics Head Coach Brad Stevens will coach the Eastern Conference All-Stars. Boston picked up win No. 3,253 over Los Angeles, moving one victory ahead of the Lakers all-time.

Coming into tonight’s action, the Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Lakers were tied as franchises with 3,252 total wins apiece.

That changed tonight, as the Celtics are now in sole possession of the most wins as an NBA franchise after beating the Lakers 113-107 Friday night at the TD Garden.

The Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Lakers tip-off tonight at 8 pm at the TD Garden, and although the two teams share one of sports best rivalries, it is safe to presume that that hatred is on hold.

Since opening the season at 10-10, the Lakers have lost 25 of their last 32 games, and in the NBA’s overall standings, only the Phoenix Suns and the dreadful Brooklyn Nets have worse records than the 17-35 Lakers.

The Lakers and Celtics may be heading in opposite directions, however, the Lakers have young talent that has the chance to get them back in contention sooner rather than later.
