The Boston Celtic's and the NBA have released the 2014/15 season schedule. The Celtic's will kick off the 2014/15 season on October 29th at the TD Garden against Kevin Garnett and the Brooklyn Nets. The Celtics will then have a brief 2 game road trip to Houston and Dallas. The Celtics first game vs Lebron James, Kevin Love and the Cavaliers is november 14th. The Celtics will welcome back Paul Pierce when the Wizards come to town on the 7th of December. The Celtics were given only 1 nationally televised game this season by the NBA. Which is a game vs the January 14th vs the Atlanta Hawks a game which espn will have coverage. The Celtics will not be given the privelage of playing on ABC or TNT the entire season unless they make the playoffs. The Celtics will get 3 games on NBA TV agains the Pelicans, @ the Lakers, and @ the Nets.The Celtic's Talk Crew will be joined by ADAM LOWENSTEIN and JON SHAMES. NBA free agency has now reached its 1 month mark. So far Danny Ainge has made a few moves. Resinging Avery Bradley and Phil Pressey. Ainge has also made a few deals in the trade market. Danny ainge has made a few moves to get several expiring contracts that will be really valuable come the trade deadline for the 2014/15 season. The latest news say the Celtic's are willing to help other teams interested in making trades by becoming a 3rd team in the deal. That includes helping another team get the player many Celtic fan's wanted which was Kevin Love. Danny Ainge with his moves so far has helped the Cleveland Cavaliers get the cap space they needed to sign Lebron James and also appears willing to help Cleveland get Kevin Love to team with Lebron. Its been roughly 3 weeks since the NBA free agency period began. The Celtic's had 12 days to use their trade exception which they received in the Paul Pierce trade that was worth $10,275,136. Using that trade exception would allow the Celtics to make a trade without giving up any players while allowing the other team to get rid of one of their players and not take back any players salaries. This trade exception would be something many teams looking to sign players like Lebron James and Carmelo Anthony would want as it gives them that money in cap space virtually. The Celtic's had till July 12th to use that trade exception. The Celtics also had roughly 10 million dollars to use in cap space. Through the first 24 hours of the free agency period the Celtics called several players who didnt make much money but are impact players like Gordon Hayward of the Utah Jazz. After signing Avery Bradley for roughly 8 million a season with his first transaction of the 2014 offseason. Danny Ainge has made his first trade. Danny Ainge used the 10.3 million dollar trade exception that the Celtics got in the deal that sent Hall of Famers Kevin Garnett, Jason Terry and Paul Pierce to Brooklyn to bring in a few more pieces to the puzzle. The Celtics in a deal that also inculdes the Brooklyn Nets will send the 10.3 million dollar trade exception with a future 2nd round pick to the Cleveland Cavaliers while the Cavaliers will send Jarrett Jack and Sergey Karasev to Brooklyn and Tyler Zeller along with a future 1st round pick goes to Boston. Brooklyn will send Marcus Thorton to Boston. This deal has given the Celtic's 2 expiring contracts that could come in huge at the trade deadline and another draft pick. This trade has allowed the Cavaliers to bring back Lebron James which was announced this past friday when Lebron opted to leave Miami to return to his home town team. So this move which the Celtic's were one of only a few teams that Cleveland had to try and see if they could convince to help them has pretty much ended the Big 3 era down in south beach.
