Ukrainian air defence units have critically low missile stocks, and international support remains vital.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has stated that Russia has continued its assaults and shelling along the front line.

On the evening of May 7 and overnight, drones, explosions, air defense activity, and fires at industrial facilities were reported in several Russian cities. Drones struck Moscow, Rostov, and Yaroslavl.

Ukraine’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has commented on the Kremlin’s statement about the withdrawal of the Defense Forces from the unoccupied part of the Donetsk region as a condition for continuing trilateral talks.

Russian occupation forces have gained ground near Horikhove in Donetsk Oblast and Filiia in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast.

The Kremlin claims that trilateral US-Ukraine-Russia talks are "impractical" because Kyiv is not withdrawing its troops from the Ukrainian-controlled part of the Donetsk region.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Ukraine does not recommend that representatives of states close to Russia be in Moscow in the coming days.

Russia said it would suspend hostilities from May 8 to 10 "in connection with a ceasefire" marking May 9. However, if Ukraine launches strikes on regions or along the line of contact, there will be an "absolute response."

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has stated that Russia is not taking the ceasefire seriously, so Ukraine will act fairly.

Law enforcement officials are conducting searches at the Kyiv National University of Culture and Arts, as well as at the private higher education institution "Kyiv University of Culture."
