US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said he hopes Russia and Ukraine will reach an agreement to end the war in the near future.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said the United States has made significant progress in talks on ending Russia’s war against Ukraine. At the same time, he said there is still work to do.

On December 19, a Ukrainian delegation led by National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) Secretary Rustem Umerov will hold a new round of consultations in the United States. Ukraine will also be represented in the talks by Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces’ General Staff Andrii Hnatov.

The European Union will, for the first time, be represented at peace talks on ending Russia’s war against Ukraine, to be held on December 20–21 by envoys of U.S. President Donald Trump.
