Russian companies are increasingly forced to defend their facilities against drone attacks on their own. In the first half of 2026 alone, the Russian commercial sector increased its purchases of countermeasures against UAVs by a factor of 6.6 compared to the same period last year.

Russian forces attacked the Kharkiv and Donetsk regions with drones, aerial bombs and artillery. Two people were killed and nine injured in the Kharkiv region, whilst in the Donetsk region there were two fatalities and 27 injured.
