In these two weeks we explore our mission and goals as a church family. This message focuses on our mission statement and our theme for 2017.

Pastor Brent Southard - Part 3 of our series on mission. Every believer plays a part in the Great Commission that Jesus gave us. In 2017, we're challenging our church family to intentionally pray for, care for, and share the Good News with the unsaved and unchurched in our circles.

The Great Commission is not in opposition to the Great Commandment. To love people means that we must both share the Gospel and meet true physical needs. Our perfect model is Jesus, the Word who became flesh - living out both grace and truth. Our emphasis in 2017 is to intentionally pray for, care for, and share the Good News with the unsaved and unchurched.

We may not all be equally gifted in evangelism, but every believer has a role to play in God's mission. We mustn't shrink back in apathy, ignorance, isolation or fear - but pray for a heart of compassion for our neighbors and the nations. Jesus is the center of all things and His mission should be central in the life of every Christian.

For the last 5+ years we've maintained a special end-of-the-year tradition. The Sunday following Christmas, we open the floor for our church family to share ways that they've experienced God's faithfulness over the course of the last 12 months. It is always an especially encouraging time, and inspires us for the coming new year. Listen in!

Jesus claimed to be wiser than Solomon. This is the claim of a megalomaniac or someone uniquely great! And Jesus is not only wisdom, but redemption also. He gives guidance, but forgiveness when we act the fool. Christmas and the claims of Jesus require not just a day of our attention, but our entire life and sole worship.
