Center Point Assembly

Being the first week of the School year, Pastor Mike discusses a very important topic of "ministry in the body". The message this week encourages everyone to get involved in their local church by realizing that work is "ministry" if done unto the Lord. There is much to be done in the body, and as people see the work as ministry, there is much reward. The older generation needs to reach out to the younger generations and be willing to invest into them, thus raising them up. Ministry in the Body of Christ becomes a joy not a burden...

Pastor Mike continues in the series on the The Holy Spirit by speaking this week on the two extreme teachings, both missing the mark of what the bible speaks in regards to receiving the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. One extreme is that at salvation one receives all there is of the Holy Spirit and the other extreme is that unless a person is Holy Spirit Baptized with the evidence of speaking in tongues they aren't saved. Neither of which are supported in scripture. Simply stated, Jesus Baptizes the believer with the Holy Spirit's power, which is the same Spirit that drew the believer to Jesus in the first place. The believer receives more of the same spirit that saved them as they are Baptized in the Holy Spirit. Faith is required for both experiences. The purpose of being Baptized in the Holy Spirit is for greater power and boldness in winning souls and serving the Body. It is a gift for all believers, if we would just receive...

Pastor Mike begins the next series on The Holy Spirit and what it means to be filled or "Baptized in the Holy Spirit". This is the introduction to the series and speaks about the "Normal Experience" of the early church being fully accepting of the Holy Spirit in both the area of regeneration or salvation and the experience of being Baptized and endued with power that the Holy Spirit brings. It is the prayer of this pastor that this series be directed and guided by the Holy Spirit and that the church today would once again allow and invite the Holy Spirit to be activated and sought after in His fullness...

Pastor Mike picks up and finishes the series on the Maturing Fruit of the Spirit by discussing the final characteristic describing of the Fruit of the Spirit being "Self-Control". The fruit of the Spirit is likened as a cluster of grapes, each is unique as a single grape yet always grows together and is seen as a cluster of grapes. Likewise, the Fruit of the Spirit is evident typically together in the life of true follower of Christ. This week we talk about Self-Control as the anchor fruit that ties and holds all the fruit together in the life of a person. With self-control a person is able to allow the Holy Spirit access to empower him or her to live a fruit filled life. Without self-control, anything goes and the ability to hold to accountability is non-existent. To get a better understanding, take a few minutes and listen in and allow the Holy Spirit to minister...
