God gives Jesus Christ as God's light in the darkest times in the world. The world is a spiritually dark place. It is hopeless and only offers solutions to despair that leads to judgment. But God has shone His light upon this world through the Lord Jesus Christ. This message provides hope by turning our focus to Christ.

The Gospel will work in those who hear it. God speaks through the Gospel revealed in His written Word. When God speaks through the Gospel lives are impacted and God’s Word accomplished precisely what He sends it out to do. In this message, we look at God’s power displayed through His Word and the responses it engenders in its hearers.

Share the mercy of God with the lost. The Gospel message is a message of mercy. It is a message of God’s past mercy, great mercy, and forgiving mercy. This message looks at Paul’s proclamation of Gospel mercy to the lost and it encourages a compassionate witness for Christ.

Advance the Gospel as Christ leads. Christ is advancing His good news throughout our world today. He has uniquely gifted and placed each of His people to reach the lost and He empowers the message they are sent to proclaim. This sermon looks at the first missionaries sent out by the early church and Christ’s guiding hand in the work – a work that continues today.

God is greater than any opposition. In this world, God’s people will face persecution. While God allows these hardships to come against His people, He will always protect His own and prevail over all opposition. Acts 12 is a strengthening narrative for the believer suffering for Christ’s name.

We need each other for the gospel. As believers cultivate their unity in Christ, work together, and care for one another the church is built and the gospel expands. The work of the gospel becomes more effective as believers unite together and churches partner with one another. This message looks at the unity and partnership of the early church.

There is no partiality in the Gospel. God shows no partiality and His message of salvation goes out to all. People everywhere - regardless of nationality, social class, or age - are called to believe on Christ. This sermon explores the mercy of God as He welcomes all who believe into His family.
