The real older brother in this story is Jesus Himself, who left heaven, lived a sinless life, and gave everything so that anyone who has wandered can find their way home.

Life can leave us feeling completely worn out - physically, emotionally, and spiritually drained. When we feel worn down, we don't have to climb life's stairs in our own strength - we can accept Jesus' helping hands and walk with Him.

In his final prayer before the cross, Jesus revealed what was truly on his heart - and remarkably, he was praying for you. Jesus prayed that God would keep us safe by the power of his name, not from trouble but through trouble. He declared that God loves you with the exact same love he has for Jesus himself. This incredible truth should transform how we love others. When we understand that God sees us through the lens of the cross - our imperfections given to Jesus and his perfection given to us - we can love others with acceptance, goodness, commitment, and sacrificial action.

In John 4, Jesus encounters a Samaritan woman who had tried to find fulfillment through five marriages but remained empty.
