Central church of Christ, Sunday Sermons

In January, we were reminded of our identity as the church, and in February, we looked into Jesus' call to enter his kingdom. For the month of March, we will conclude our sermon series on "The Church: God's Kingdom" by looking into our influence as God's people. This Sunday, we will be reminded of our impact to the world around us as the salt of the earth and the light of the world!

As we continue our sermon series on “The Church: God’s Kingdom”, we will look into Jesus’ invitation to enter his kingdom by building on the rock. What does this entail, and what does it mean for us today?”

Most people want to enter, but who will? Can we know?

As Christians, we need to make sure that what people hear from us is really from God’s word and not our own thoughts, feelings or opinions. How did Jesus deal with others when confronted about what God’s will is?

Last month, we were reminded of our identity as the church. As we continue with our series on “The Church: God’s Kingdom” for the month of February, we will look into the call to enter God’s kingdom in Jesus’ sermon on the mount (Mt 7:13-29). This week, we will start by investigating the nature, cost, and principles of “The Narrow Way”.

Our sermon series for the first quarter of 2018 has reminded us so far that God’s kingdom is manifested in the world as the church, that individual Christians are members that make up the body of Christ, and that God has given us work to do. This Sunday, we will be reminded that as the church, we are God’s family. We are brothers and sisters, and God is our Heavenly Father!

This Sunday we will be looking at the church and its work. God expects us to be busy in His Kingdom.

The church is referred to as the body of Christ. We will explore what this means to us as vital members of this body, and what our relationship is to our head, Jesus Christ himself.

Why are there so many churches in the world today? There are literally thousands of churches out there with different teachings, doctrines and practices. Today we will look at some of the prophecies of the Lord’s death, burial, resurrection, and the coming of His church, and learn how we might find the Lord’s church among the religious confusion in the world today.
