The Christmas story was an invitation to reverse everything that you thought should be. Jesus’ arrival on earth revealed God’s kingdom in a dirty barn and amongst the poor, celebrated by no name shepherds. His invitation was to trade greed for generosity, anger for forgiveness, outcasted for belonging, servant for leader, and revenge for love. This was just the beginning of a kingdom where everything seems backwards, everything goes against our human perspective but maybe this great reversal is everything we need to understand and allow to transform our perspectives to see path to a life that is truly great.
