Tales of Revival: When the Spirit Comes

Mark 1:29-37 shows a moment in Jesus ministry where the work load seems overwhelming. Its busy seasons like this in our lives that we often forget or set aside our time with the Lord. In this passage we see that it is in these seasons when we need to fight the hardest to sit with our God.

Every move of God has a story. In each story, the Spirit of God works in ways that are

both similar and unique. By looking at the tales of revival in Scripture, we can grasp

what God may be wanting to do in our midst today.

What does God have to say to a church celebrating 75 years as a community of faith in

the city? It might not be what you expect.

Most, if not all, of us want to see God pour out his Spirit in our day. But not many of us

arent willing to pay attention to the place where revival begins: our hearts. Yet, God

says that is exactly what we need to do.

To want revival is one thing; to give yourself to the journey to get there is another. In this

teaching, we look at the postures and practices that work together to create the

conditions for a move of Gods Spirit.

The time is now to contend for God to move in our time. But in order for the church to

contend for a move of , it must take up the cry of revival and call on God to keep his

promises. Using the Exodus story, we investigate what this looks like and how we can

get involved as the church of Jesus.

As Central Heights turns 75, we celebrate Gods faithfulness and give thanks for all he

has done. Yet milestone is not the finish line, but a new beginning. God is still at work,

and Isaiah 61 invites us to join Him in whats next.
